May 9, 2010, Yoonhee & Do Hyun's wedding at The Gramercy

On Mother's Day, May 9, 2010, Yoonhee and Do Hyun were married at The Gramercy Mansion. The temperature was a bit cooler than expected, but the ceremony was still held outside in the ceremony garden. The bridal party walked down the aisle while our String Trio played Mouret's Rondeau. Yoonhee selected the traditional, Bridal March by Wagner for her processional. When the bride and groom presented flowers to their parents, the trio played Salut d’Amor. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the couple was officially introduced and kissed as we stared playing Mendelssohn's Wedding March. After the ceremony, the guests moved inside the mansion for the cocktail hour. We also moved inside and played cocktail hour music until the bridal party was ready to be introduced. The Vienna Blood Waltz was chosen for the introduction of the bridal party. Once the bride and groom were introduced, we began playing, Por Una Cabeza. The couple had choreographed a dance to match our arrangement of this piece. The bride changed into a separate dress for the reception and the first dance. They did a lovely job of dancing to this tango--perfectly timed! The guests loved the addition of live music for this dance. We received many kind compliments from their guests!

May 8, 2010, Tina & Michael's ceremony at The Notre Dame Chapel

Tina & Michael almost did not get married on May 8th. When they arrived at the church, it was discovered that someone forgot to bring the wedding rings. Luckily, one of the groomsmen drove back home and got the rings, however this delayed the start of the ceremony by 20 minutes. Fortunately, Berta & Tammy had plenty of music and continued playing pre-ceremony music until the rings were brought to the church. The violin & piano duo played the Pachelbel Canon for the bridal party and Trumpet Voluntary for Tina's entrance. In addition to the ceremony music, the duo also played the Catholic Mass of Creation parts. When the couple lighted the unity candle, the duo played, Be Thou My Vision. For the Holy Communion and Filipino Ritual with the veil & cord, the couple selected Jesu, Joy of the Man's Desiring. When Tina & Michael presented flowers to the Blessed Mother, Ave Maria was played. Up to this point, all of the music was completely traditional, however the couple surprised everyone when the musicians began, Don't Stop Believin' for the recessional. What a great ending!!

April 11, 2010, Stacey & Kevin's wedding at Thorpewood

Stacey & Kevin were married on April 11, 2010 at Thorpewood, which is located on top of a mountain near Frederick. The couple, who loves the outdoors, had us perform music for their pre-ceremony & ceremony in the "Pine Cathedral." This area was shaded by large pine trees and the pews were made of trees, which resembled life size "Lincoln Logs." They chose our String Trio to perform The Pachelbel Canon in D for the processional to the chuppah. After Kevin broke the glass, we played Spring, from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. After the ceremony, we quickly drove across the street and played cocktail hour music on the screened in porch of Thorpewood. Such a beautiful & rustic location!

March 14, 2010 - Miranda & Lloyd's wedding

Miranda and Lloyd were married today at The McDonogh School's, Tagart Chapel. Our Violin and Piano Duo performed for the couples pre-ceremony and ceremony. The ceremony was delayed a bit, which may have been due to the fire hydrant/water main break on Reisterstown Road. We continued to play pre-ceremony music until the ceremony was ready to begin. The couple chose The Flower Song for their wedding party's entrance and The Pachelbel Canon for Miranda's big entrance. The bride wore a strapless white gown with purple inlay, which beautifully complimented the bridesmaid's lavender dresses. The couple chose The Hallelujah Chorus for their recessional and Ode To Joy for the postlude selection. To listen to some of our performance, please visit our podcast page of our website. March 7, 2010 - Bridal Show at The Columbia Sheraton

The Antares Musician's Flute and String Trio performed on March 7, 2010 at the Columbia Sheraton for the Britton Events Bridal Show from 1:30 until 4:30. Our consultants were available to speak with the many brides and grooms as the musicians continued to perform. We used our Bose system which helped us to adjust our volume to this setting, allowing our music to be heard while still remaining “atmospheric” in the background. We had many couples and vendors compliment our playing. We also received many requests from the vendors, which we were able to accommodate. We look forward to hearing from the numerous brides that signed our register!
