May 22, 2010 - Alissa & Lee's Wedding at The Engineer's Club

Alissa & Lee were married on May 22, 2010 at the renowned Engineer's Club in Baltimore. The couple chose our string quartet to perform pre-ceremony, ceremony, & cocktail hour music. We played "Air on the G String" for the processional of the bridal party and The Pachelbel Canon for Alissa's entrance. After the seven wedding blessings were sung, Lee broke the glass and we played "Spring" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. After the ceremony, we moved in the large atrium area and played a mix of tangos, opera, and light jazz for the cocktail hour. Since the couple had a large amount of guests, they requested that we bring our Bose amplification system. Our sound was projected beautifully through this system and was heard clearly by all of the guests. We received many compliments from the guests and also the employees at the club!

May 15, 2010, Kimberly & Dave's wedding at The Columbia Sheraton

On May 15, 2010, Kimberly and Dave were married at The Columbia Sheraton. The couple had their ceremony on the patio overlooking the lake in Columbia. Our string trio played pre-ceremony music from 6:30 until 7:00. The ceremony began at 7:00 and we played The Pachelbel Canon for everyone in the processional, including Kimberly, however we did play it a bit stronger for her entrance. The ring bearer, a dog named Bear, was all dressed up in a tuxedo built exclusively for him. Apparently the ceremony must not have been very interesting to Bear since he fell asleep! The couple chose to have a sand ceremony for which we played Handel's Passacaile. They also decided to present their parents with flowers as we appropriately played, The Flower Duet, from Lakme. At the end of the ceremony, the couple kissed and we started playing Spring, from the Four Seasons. We moved inside for the cocktail hour and played until 8:00. Bear made sure to come over to request one of his favorites, "Who Let The Dogs Out?" I think he enjoyed being part of his parents special day!

May 9, 2010, Yoonhee & Do Hyun's wedding at The Gramercy

On Mother's Day, May 9, 2010, Yoonhee and Do Hyun were married at The Gramercy Mansion. The temperature was a bit cooler than expected, but the ceremony was still held outside in the ceremony garden. The bridal party walked down the aisle while our String Trio played Mouret's Rondeau. Yoonhee selected the traditional, Bridal March by Wagner for her processional. When the bride and groom presented flowers to their parents, the trio played Salut d’Amor. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the couple was officially introduced and kissed as we stared playing Mendelssohn's Wedding March. After the ceremony, the guests moved inside the mansion for the cocktail hour. We also moved inside and played cocktail hour music until the bridal party was ready to be introduced. The Vienna Blood Waltz was chosen for the introduction of the bridal party. Once the bride and groom were introduced, we began playing, Por Una Cabeza. The couple had choreographed a dance to match our arrangement of this piece. The bride changed into a separate dress for the reception and the first dance. They did a lovely job of dancing to this tango--perfectly timed! The guests loved the addition of live music for this dance. We received many kind compliments from their guests!

May 8, 2010, Tina & Michael's ceremony at The Notre Dame Chapel

Tina & Michael almost did not get married on May 8th. When they arrived at the church, it was discovered that someone forgot to bring the wedding rings. Luckily, one of the groomsmen drove back home and got the rings, however this delayed the start of the ceremony by 20 minutes. Fortunately, Berta & Tammy had plenty of music and continued playing pre-ceremony music until the rings were brought to the church. The violin & piano duo played the Pachelbel Canon for the bridal party and Trumpet Voluntary for Tina's entrance. In addition to the ceremony music, the duo also played the Catholic Mass of Creation parts. When the couple lighted the unity candle, the duo played, Be Thou My Vision. For the Holy Communion and Filipino Ritual with the veil & cord, the couple selected Jesu, Joy of the Man's Desiring. When Tina & Michael presented flowers to the Blessed Mother, Ave Maria was played. Up to this point, all of the music was completely traditional, however the couple surprised everyone when the musicians began, Don't Stop Believin' for the recessional. What a great ending!!

May 7, 2010, Lindsay's wedding at Turf Valley

On May 7, 2010, Linday was married at Turf Valley in Ellicott City, MD. Their ceremony took place by the gazebo on a beautiful Friday evening. Our String Trio performed pre-ceremony for their guests. The couple chose Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring for their parents/grandparents processional and The Pachelbel Canon for the bridal party and Linday's processional. Lindsay decided to have a rock ceremony, during which the couple poured small pebbles into a vase as we played Handel's Passacaile. After the couple was married, we played Spring from the Four Seasons for the recessional and The Queen of Sheba for the postlude music. After the ceremony, everyone moved inside to the foyer of the Waterford room, where we performed music for the cocktail hour. We used our Bose system to provide the perfect volume for the guests and venue and received many compliments from their guests!

As an interlude, we played, "The Prelude from Te Deum" and "Ode To Joy" for the recessional. After the ceremony, our trio quickly moved to the cocktail hour location outside the Waterford Ballroom. Fortunately, we were able to take advantage of the beautiful piano in this location at Turf Valley. Our trio played a mix of jazz, pop, and tangos for their cocktail hour. April 23, 2010, Fitzgerald birthday party at Liberatore's of Timonium Restaurant

On April 23, 2010, Jinni held a 70th birthday party for her husband at Liberatore's of Timonium Restaurant. Our Flute & String Trio performed background music for four hours as the couple & their guests celebrated this milestone birthday. Since the "birthday boy" was Irish, we made sure to play a lot of Irish music! Their guests were extremely pleased with our performance and applauded after almost every piece of music we played.

April 17, 2010, Leslie & Jon's wedding at The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

Leslie & Jon were married at The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club's Sunset Ballroom on April 17, 2010. It was a cold & windy day on the bay, but fortunately the ceremony was inside! Our Flute & String Trio performed The Pachelbel Canon for the bridal party's processional and Trumpet Voluntary for Leslie's entrance. At the end of the ceremony, we played Handel's Hornpipe for the recessional. The couple had planned to have their cocktail hour upstairs on the outside deck, however the windy weather did not allow for this to take place. The guests tried going outside, but quickly moved back inside and resumed the cocktail hour in the Sunset Ballroom.

April 11, 2010, Stacey & Kevin's wedding at Thorpewood

Stacey & Kevin were married on April 11, 2010 at Thorpewood, which is located on top of a mountain near Frederick. The couple, who loves the outdoors, had us perform music for their pre-ceremony & ceremony in the "Pine Cathedral." This area was shaded by large pine trees and the pews were made of trees, which resembled life size "Lincoln Logs." They chose our String Trio to perform The Pachelbel Canon in D for the processional to the chuppah. After Kevin broke the glass, we played Spring, from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. After the ceremony, we quickly drove across the street and played cocktail hour music on the screened in porch of Thorpewood. Such a beautiful & rustic location!
